Indonesia Business Event Mart and Southeast Asia Business Events Forum Set to Boost Jakarta’s MICE Landscape
Indonesia is preparing to strengthen its position in the regional meetings and events sector with the launch of the inaugural Indonesia Business Event Mart (IBEM), which will be held alongside the Southeast Asia Business Events Forum (SEABEF) in Jakarta from 28–31 July 2026.
Organised through a strategic partnership between E&C Productions, TTG Events, and supported by Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism, the twin events aim to bring together buyers, sellers, destinations, venues, and industry stakeholders from across Southeast Asia and beyond.
A New Platform for Business Events Growth
The first edition of IBEM is expected to welcome around 250 hosted buyers and 200 exhibitors and sellers, creating a dedicated marketplace for business networking, destination promotion, and commercial opportunities. The event will showcase destinations, convention centres, hotels, and event service providers while facilitating direct engagement with key decision-makers from the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) sector. By providing focused business matching and networking opportunities, IBEM aims to support the continued growth of Indonesia’s business events industry while highlighting the country’s capabilities as a competitive MICE destination.
Jakarta Takes Centre Stage
As Indonesia’s capital and principal gateway, Jakarta offers strong international and regional air connectivity, making it an accessible destination for delegates. IBEM and SEABEF will take place at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), located approximately 45 minutes from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, providing convenient access for international attendees.
Southeast Asia Business Events Forum
Running alongside IBEM, the Southeast Asia Business Events Forum (SEABEF) will provide a platform for industry dialogue and knowledge exchange. The forum will bring together policymakers, tourism officials, event organisers, industry associations, and business leaders to discuss key trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping the future of business events across the region. The co-location of IBEM and SEABEF creates a combined programme that blends thought leadership with commercial engagement, offering delegates both educational and business development opportunities.
Showcasing Jakarta Beyond the Convention Centre
Following the event, hosted buyers and media representatives will have the opportunity to participate in a curated island-hopping familiarisation tour organised by the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Office (Dinas Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif DKI Jakarta). The programme will introduce participants to attractions including Onrust Island and Macan Island, providing insight into Jakarta’s maritime heritage, cultural attractions, and tourism experiences beyond the city centre.
Driving Business and Regional Collaboration
By combining high-level industry discussions with targeted business meetings, IBEM and SEABEF aim to deliver measurable value for delegates while strengthening regional collaboration within Southeast Asia’s business events sector. The organisers believe the events will help accelerate Indonesia’s ambitions to become a leading hub for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions in the region.
