Goyang’s business events industry featured in the evening programme at IT&CM Asia and CTW Asia-Pacific 2026 in Bangkok. Under the title “GCC Goyang Night: Meet, Dine & Discover”, the Goyang hosted dinner offered invited buyers and media an introduction to the Korean destination and its meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions offering.
The dinner’s destination focus was GCC Goyang, short for Global Convention Complex Goyang. The programme described it as Korea’s first city-led international convention complex district. Delegates were offered the opportunity to meet Goyang Convention & Visitors Bureau alongside five businesses from the Goyang MICE Incubation Center: a global professional congress organiser, an environmentally focused exhibition booth contractor, an artificial intelligence-based data analytics platform, a five-star hotel and an inbound travel agency specialising in customised tours of Korea.
Anna Lee, Goyang Convention and Visitors Bureauis a key MICE coordinator and representative handling international marketing and global event destination management for the bureau opened the evening with welcome remarks.
That selection of speakers at the Goyang Hosted Dinner covered practical requirements of organising an international event, from congress management and exhibition production to accommodation, technology and visitor experiences. Viewed together, the supplier categories suggest a presentation designed to help buyers assess how a programme could be delivered in Goyang.
The Sono Calm Goyang presentation covered the facilities at the 5-star hotel located in Goyang, South Korea. It is highly popular among both business professionals and leisure travelers due to its premium facilities and strategic location.
The bureau has previously described its MICE incubator as a way to strengthen cooperation between local businesses and support the wider convention district. Its inclusion in the dinner programme connected this local business development initiative with an international audience of event planners.
At the centre of Goyang’s convention infrastructure is KINTEX, which the city’s tourism authority identifies as Korea’s largest exhibition and convention centre. The authority lists an exhibition area of 108,011 square metres across its two principal exhibition centres. This provides the destination with substantial capacity for trade exhibitions and associated business events. Goyang City Cultural Tourism
Goyang was designated an international conference city by Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2014. Its convention bureau supports meeting planners, event professionals and incentive organisers. The city’s published description of its work includes event funding programmes, visitor tour support, the Goyang MICE Alliance and the development of MICE tourism packages. Eligibility and current support arrangements should be discussed directly with the bureau. Goyang City Cultural Tourism
