Singapore to Host ASEAN Tourism Forum 2027

Singapore will host the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2027 under the theme “Transforming Tourism, Empowering Tomorrow.” The event will run from 18 to 22 January 2027. ATF 2027 coincides with the 60th anniversary of ASEAN. Therefore, it will celebrate six decades of regional partnership and cooperation. Delegates will also consider the future of tourism across Southeast Asia. In particular, the forum will focus on building a more resilient, sustainable and integrated regional destination.

A major marketplace for ASEAN tourism

The ASEAN Travel Exchange, TRAVEX 2027, will form a central part of the programme. The business-to-business exhibition will take place in Singapore from 20 to 21 January 2027.

TRAVEX 2027 will connect international tourism buyers with sellers from ASEAN member states. Buyers can schedule one-to-one appointments before the event. As a result, they can identify suitable partners and use their time efficiently.

The exhibition will showcase tourism products and experiences from all 11 ASEAN member states. Visitors can meet national and regional tourism organisations, hotels, resorts, airlines and tour operators. They can also connect with destination management companies, attractions and other tourism suppliers. Therefore, TRAVEX will provide a useful overview of new developments across Southeast Asia.

Networking beyond the exhibition

Business discussions will continue beyond the exhibition floor. For example, hosted meals, evening functions and networking activities will offer more opportunities to meet.

These informal settings can help delegates exchange market information and develop professional contacts. In addition, participants can discuss future campaigns, itineraries and commercial partnerships.

The programme will also include media briefings from ASEAN national tourism organisations. During these sessions, tourism authorities will share visitor statistics, destination strategies and details of new products. They will also outline their priorities for future tourism development.

Consequently, buyers and international media can gain a clearer understanding of each destination. The briefings may also generate new editorial ideas and business opportunities.

Singapore returns as host

Singapore last hosted the ASEAN Tourism Forum in 2017. Now, the regional event will return to the city during an important anniversary year.

Each year, an ASEAN member state hosts the forum on a rotating basis. The event promotes Southeast Asia as a diverse but connected destination. Moreover, it encourages greater travel between ASEAN countries and supports cooperation across the tourism industry.

Singapore offers extensive international air connections and a well-established meetings industry. Furthermore, its position as a regional business centre makes it accessible to delegates from Asia and other international markets.

Looking towards the future

The 2027 theme places sustainable growth, innovation and resilience at the centre of the discussion. The forum will explore how tourism can support economies while respecting communities, cultures and the environment.

Key areas will include digital transformation, tourism skills, accessibility and destination management. Meanwhile, industry representatives can share practical experience and learn from developments elsewhere in the region.

Finally, ATF 2027 will combine regional policy discussions with commercial meetings and destination promotion. This approach will connect ASEAN’s long-term tourism priorities with practical opportunities for businesses, destinations and international partners.
