Thailand has six new MICE Cities: Krabi, Chiang Rai, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Rayong, Ubon Ratchathani and Hua Hin–Cha-am. The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) says the additions bring its nationwide network to 16 destinations. TCEB will work with each location to develop its event facilities, local partnerships and experiences that reflect what makes the destination distinctive.
The Six New MICE Cities
- Chiang Rai: Northern region; known for tea, coffee, creative arts, and mountain views.
- Ubon Ratchathani: Northeastern Isan region; known for its Candle Festival and Mekong River culture.
- Rayong: Eastern coast; an industrial and economic powerhouse in the Eastern Economic Corridor.
- Hua Hin–Cha-am: Western coastal area; a dual resort destination on the Gulf of Thailand.
- Krabi: Southern Andaman coast; mixes natural scenery with modern event facilities.
- Nakhon Si Thammarat: Southern Gulf coast; features rich history alongside coastal and mountain landscapes
TCEB says it will work with the newly certified destinations to focus on transport and infrastructure, event programmes built around each area’s local strengths, and stronger networks of local MICE businesses. The bureau also plans to promote sustainable event management as those programmes develop. For organisers, the expanded network offers more ways to match an event’s business purpose with a destination’s industries, venues and local experiences.
