The 2024 edition welcomed over 300 new and returning destinations, organisations, and brands, alongside more than 300 MICE, Association, and Corporate Buyers from over 50 countries and territories
Pre-Event Highlights: Exclusive Workshops
The 32nd IT&CM Asia and 27th CTW Asia-Pacific 2024 have concluded, and this year marked a return to an in-person event with meetings in the MICE and corporate travel sectors.
Delegates had the chance to participate in two pre-event workshops organised by the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB):
- Sensory Marketing: Attendees crafted personalised fragrances, exploring the role of scent in enhancing brand experiences.
- The Power of Art: Delegates participated in hands-on wheel-throwing and sculpting sessions, experiencing the power of creativity in team building and personal expression.
Many delegates, having travelled from all parts of the globe, expressed their disappointment there were no organised city tours or attempts to show off Bangkok as a MICE destination. A lost opportunity for Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) to promote bangkok.
The pre-event day ended with a golfing and networking session for some delegates at Topgolf Megacity.
Day 1: Key Insights and Networking
The first full day kicked off with CruiseXchange by IT&CMA, featuring a keynote and fireside chat, followed by another impactful opening keynote addressing current industry trends and future opportunities.
An ice-breaking session by Asia Ability, Say Hi to Everyone, featured a fun activity using boomwhackers to create rhythmic music, encouraging delegates to bond and network. While suitable for junior executives. Many of the senior buyers of major companies passed on this element of the event.
The day concluded with an Evening Get-Together, where exhibitors, delegates, and industry professionals mingled over drinks and canapés, enjoying networking activities and music.
Exhibitions and Appointments
Throughout the event, a number of exhibitors offered engaging experiences:
- Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB): Design-your-own bracelet workshop
- Hong Kong Tourism Board: Live milk tea and egg waffle demonstrations
- Taiwan Tourism Administration and Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute, Macao SAR: Food tasting sessions
- MEET TAIWAN: Lottery wheel and giveaways
- Pattaya MICE City: Macramé keychain workshop
Delegates also benefited from bonus pre-scheduled appointments, which allowed flexibility to attend conferences, educational sessions, and brand showcases. A buyer incentive programme rewarded those who completed appointments with prizes ranging from gift cards to hotel stays.
Interactive Experiences and Prizes
In collaboration with Asia Ability, IT&CMA and CTW APAC created a real-life game board that encouraged delegates to visit different booths and complete interactive tasks like taking photos and videos and answering questions. Top scorers walked away with exciting prizes, including shopping bags, day tour vouchers, IHG One Rewards points, and hotel stays sponsored by partners such as TCEB, Pattaya, MEET TAIWAN, and IHG Group.
Looking Ahead
The next edition of IT&CM Asia and CTW APAC will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from 23 to 25 September 2025.
